These Terms of Use govern your use of MapNero ("App"), a professional GIS mapping application for iOS. By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms.

1. The App

MapNero is a professional GIS mapping tool for field operations, survey work, and team coordination. It provides offline map viewing (GeoPDF, GeoTIFF, XYZ tiles), GPS track recording, coordinate conversion (UTM/MGRS/WGS84), vector layer management (Shapefile, GeoPackage, GeoJSON), and real-time team session coordination.

IT IS NOT A CERTIFIED NAVIGATION SYSTEM, A PROFESSIONAL MILITARY SYSTEM, AN APPROVED SURVEY OR MEASUREMENT INSTRUMENT, A SAFETY-OF-LIFE DEVICE, OR AN EMERGENCY TOOL, AND DOES NOT REPLACE ANY OF THEM. ALL EOD, CBRN, BLAST, HAZARD AND DISPERSION OUTPUTS ARE INDICATIVE ESTIMATES FOR PLANNING/TRAINING ONLY — NOT AN OPERATIONAL DECISION TOOL AND NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR CERTIFIED EOD/CBRN AUTHORITY OR AUTHORITATIVE CORDON/DISPERSION TABLES. DO NOT REDUCE STANDOFF DISTANCES OR RELY ON THESE VALUES OPERATIONALLY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY PHYSICAL INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR OTHER LOSS ARISING FROM USE OF THE APP. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK; VERIFY ALL CRITICAL DATA AGAINST AUTHORITATIVE SOURCES.

2. Accounts

MapNero does not require user accounts or registration. Your device is identified anonymously via an optional display name you choose for team sessions.

3. Subscriptions

MapNero is a free download. Advanced features require a paid yearly subscription processed by Apple via StoreKit 2.

3.1 Subscription Tiers

Free — OpenStreetMap basemap, 5 saved maps/tracks, 1 geofence, basic GIS editing.
Core ($34.99/yr) — Satellite/dark/terrain maps, offline tile cache, 3D terrain, GeoTIFF/GeoPDF export, UTM, Watch app.
Pro ($79.99/yr) — Everything in Core + MGRS, Shapefile/GeoPackage, multipage PDF reports, MIL-STD-2525 symbols, unlimited everything.
Team Solo ($99.99/yr) — Everything in Pro + persistent team workspaces, shared layer sync, admin controls, priority support.

3.2 Billing and Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
All billing is processed by Apple. Serhan UCAR never sees your payment details.

3.3 Cancellation

Cancel anytime via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → MapNero. Access continues until the end of the paid period.

3.4 Refunds

Refund requests are handled exclusively by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

4. License

Subject to these Terms, Serhan UCAR grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use MapNero on Apple-branded devices you own or control, for personal or professional field operations use.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App.
Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
Attempt to bypass subscription restrictions or licensing mechanisms.
Use the App in safety-critical systems without appropriate redundant systems and professional certification.
Transmit malware, spam, or infringing content through Team Sessions.

6. Map Data and Third-Party Content

Base map tiles are provided by MapLibre and OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap contributors under the ODbL license. User-imported maps remain your property. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to import and share any map data you load into the App.

7. Intellectual Property

The App's source code, UI design, icons, and map rendering engine are © 2026 Serhan UCAR. MapNero incorporates open-source components including MapLibre GL Native (BSD-2-Clause), listed in the App's acknowledgements screen.

8. Team Sessions — Additional Terms

Team sessions are temporary (24-hour maximum for ad-hoc sessions). All data is deleted 24 hours after expiry.
The session host is responsible for the conduct of all participants they invite.
Real-time position sharing is consensual — participants may hide their position at any time.
Chat messages are encrypted client-side; Serhan UCAR cannot read your messages.

9. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR ACCURACY OF GEOGRAPHIC DATA.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SERHAN UCAR IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE SUBSCRIPTION FEES YOU PAID IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR USD $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kuwait. Disputes that cannot be resolved by negotiation will be submitted to the competent courts of Kuwait City.

EU, UK, or Turkey residents retain the protections of their local mandatory consumer-law provisions.

12. Apple-Specific Acknowledgements

These Terms are between you and Serhan UCAR — not with Apple Inc.
Apple is a third-party beneficiary of this EULA and may enforce it against you.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance, support, or warranty for MapNero.
Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to MapNero, including product liability or intellectual property claims.

13. Changes to These Terms

Material changes will be communicated via an in-app banner at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
